Now emails from that sender automatically get reformatted before reaching you. =)

Muzzle.cc is an email modification pipeline. Emails that land at your Muzzle address are modified by state-of-the-art AI according to your prompt before landing in your normal email.

When an email reaches your Muzzle address (e.g., you--yourdomain.com@muzzle.cc), our system receives it, applies your custom reformatting instructions using AI, and forwards the cleaned-up version to your real email address (you@yourdomain.com).

Necessarily not. The message body only is sent to the current state-of-the-art large language model (LLM) for reformatting, presently Claude Opus 4.5 by Anthropic, via OpenRouter. We do not share the sender or your email address with the LLM, but we can't rule out these are mentioned in the email body. Our emails are processed in real-time and not stored permanently, with logs cycled every 10 days.

Common uses include: taming aggressive or emotional emails, summarising lengthy newsletters, extracting action items from verbose messages, simplifying technical jargon, or just making emails easier to read.

Simply enter your email address on the homepage. Your Muzzle address is automatically generated by replacing the @ with -- and adding @muzzle.cc. For example, john@example.com becomes john--example.com@muzzle.cc.

Yes! You can write your own reformatting instructions. Tell the AI to summarise, change tone, extract action items, simplify language, or anything else you need. You can update your preferences anytime.

A sensible default prompt is used that summarises the email, highlights key points, and presents the information in a clear, neutral tone.

Muzzle.cc is currently free to use while in beta. We may introduce paid tiers in the future for high-volume users.

Yes! You can create different Muzzle addresses for different purposes, each with their own reformatting instructions. Just set up each email address separately.

Their original email comes attached, and each Muzzled email includes a link to adjust your prompt if needed. Our system prompt is simply to "never leave out crucial details", but your Muzzle could override this. Despite the name, you can tell a Muzzle to only append or prepend summaries or whatever, and not to reformat the message.

Every reformatted email includes a link to your preferences page. You can also go directly to muzzle.cc/update/your--email.com to edit your instructions.

To stop using a Muzzle address, simply stop giving it out. If you want your preferences removed, contact us and we'll delete your prompt file.
